30-Year Old Cardboard
My name is Brian Applebaum and I have created this blog to re-capture my enjoyment of writing while sharing my love for the sport of baseball. My blog is centered around our beloved sport and my attempts to honor my favorite players from the past by collecting their baseball cards. I am a loyal Florida Marlins fan, but after living in Chicago for 5 years in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, I fell in love with the team’s heroes and traditions. I stay true to the players that left strong impacts on my collecting habits and baseball memories from my youth by collecting their cards today. I was a ‘baseball card kid’ during my youth and my collecting spirit was rekindled during the summer of 2008. Since that time I have built a very small but meaningful collection of cards from yesteryear. I enjoy sharing my c0llection with the readers of this website and will continue to post my new additions as they are obtained. I am also somewhat of an ‘autograph hound’. While I am not the guy chasing players through parking lots with a binder full of cards, I do enjoy the quest of seeking out autographs. And if I am able to score the signature of a player that I grew up admiring, I go all out!!! Over the past year I have given my all to entertaining anyone who stops by to visit. The Basketball Card Blog
